In our lectures on the philosophy and history of yoga, we will only touch on a handful of these issues. We'll take you back to the beginnings of yoga, explore its past and learn how it spread to the west. To help you comprehend the traditional teachings and their applicability today, we will dispel common misconceptions about Yoga and go deeper into Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.
Yoga's etymology, its meaning, its goals, its eras, its paths, its Patanjali Yoga Sutras (Yoga Darshan),and Ashtanga Yoga's current relevance.
A fundamental knowledge of the Sanskrit language is crucial in order to fully assimilate the Sanskrit names of the Yoga asanas, mudras, mantras and pranayama techniques. You will be able to recall the Sanskrit names of the various body parts and the asana names at the end of the course, not just because you memorized them, but also because you comprehend how the names are constructed.
All forms of physical Yoga, including asana, are based on Hatha Yoga. You will study more about the many Hatha Yoga scriptures in this subject, along with the reasons why your practice succeeds or fails. There are numerous misconceptions regarding the asana practice, thus we will clarify the foundational ideas of the Yogic practice as well as the distinctions between Yoga and the physical culture.
What distinguishes Vinyasa Flow from Hatha Flow? Where was Hatha Yoga first practiced? We inspire you to leave this course knowing how these three Yoga styles, we incorporated in our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, differ and resemble one another. In order for you to ultimately be able to choose which style best suits you, we will provide you with more information about the history of the various styles, as well as instructions on how to teach each one. Every morning, you'll get the option to practice various forms of Yoga. Along with teaching classic Hatha Yoga, we also emphasize teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa and more contemporary forms like Yin and Vinyasa Flow. Your individual practice is the primary concern in these classes. Because a consistent self-practice will serve as the cornerstone of all your teachings. We encourage you to use this course to further your personal yoga practice as well. It impacts your effectiveness as a Yoga teacher and is your source of inspiration and energy. We must discuss ethics in order to perform a Yoga Teacher Training. Unfortunately, there is room for discrimination and abuse in the Yoga community as well as in so many other facets of our lives. We want you to be informed about these issues. We will discuss how students and teachers interact, equally, using inclusive language and cultural appropriation.
We will teach you various breathing exercises in this module, as well as the practice of pranayama or expanding the breath.

There are theory and practice classes in the meditation module. You will discover the 12 steps of meditation, the foods that improve concentration,and the best times and locations for this practice. In addition, we teach you the fundamentals of meditation and its advantages.
We sing mantras together for 15 minutes each night. You may already be aware of the strength of some mantras and how they connect with you. In order for the mantras to settle and reach their full potential, we will offer you enough time to consistently practice and chant them together.

India's monks and sages had a profound understanding of the human body's workings and what it required to function well thousands of years ago. They understood the value of balancing and the therapeutic benefits of Yoga. We introduce you to the yogic anatomy such as Prana and Pancha Prana, Pancha Kosha, Chakras, Bandhas, Nadis (Astral Tubes), Pancha Mahabhut Tattva (Five Elements), etc.
You want to be aware of how asanas, pranayama, and meditation impact the physical body, if you intend to become a yoga teacher. We introduce you to the structure and operation of the human body in our anatomy and physiology classes. You will discover that the human body's structural makeup includes some of the following: Nervous system; Cardiovascular system; Spine and back anatomy; Hip anatomy; Spine and back anatomy; Core anatomy.
Mudras are powerful gestures that can change the way Prana moves through our body. We can use them to balance the energy throughout practice. They can alter the amount of energy and vitality in particular parts of our bodies, assisting us to return to a balanced state. You will learn several hand mudras and their effects, as well as the five categories of mudras.
Anjali Mudra, Jnana Mudra, Chin Mudra, Dhyana Mudra, Prana Mudra, Akasha Mudra, Prithivi Mudra, Varuna Mudra, and Agni Mudra are some of the mudras.
You have the opportunity to practice Jala Neti, Kapalbhati, and Nauli if you haven't before. These three Shatkarmas are among the six that are used to cleanse the body and get it ready for a successful yoga practice. You will discover the benefits and safety precautions of each Shatkarma as well as how to safely perform them to cleanse and purify your body.
In the yogic way of life, nutrition plays a significant part. The quality of our yoga practice and our overall health are significantly impacted by the food we eat. The "Yogic diet" was created by ancient yogis who were already aware of this. You will learn about the various aspects of food and how they affect your body, as well as the elements of the yogic diet and how to apply it to your daily life. The Serenity vegan breakfast buffet at our Alkaline Restaurant will serve as a great example of our yogic diet. A yogic cooking class is also included in your training program!
One of the world's oldest medical systems is Ayurveda, which has been practiced for over 5000 years. We want to give you a glimpse into this fascinating philosophy by describing how the five elements are used in healing, how to identify your dosha, and how to incorporate ayurvedic principles into your daily life.

Sandeep is your lead teacher for this 200hr YTT, with over eight years of experience in the art of teaching yoga, an E-RYT 500 & YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) with Yoga Alliance. His teaching areas are yoga philosophy, traditional Hatha Yoga, Asthanga Vinyasa, Hatha Flow, Yoga-Asana Alignment, Arm Balancing, Pranayama and Meditation. Previously he was the Head-Teacher of Power of Now Oasis Yoga-Teacher-Training-Courses, Bali, Indonesia. Before that, he served as an Organizer and Lead-Teacher for 200hr and 300hr Yoga-Teacher Training Courses in Rishikesh Yogi Ashram, India as well as the Organizer and Lead-Teacher for 200hr and 300hr Yoga-Teacher Training Courses for the Anandam Yoga School.
In addition to Yoga, Sandeep is a professional chef for Ayurvedic, Indian, Vegan and Italian food. He worked in fine-dining restaurants in different 5-star hotels and restaurant-chains between 2010 and 2017.
Katharina is the owner and founder of Anandam Yoga School. Specialising in teaching Yoga, anatomy & physiology, she has over five years’ experience in the art of teaching yoga. Her yoga specializations are Traditional Hatha Yoga, Hatha Flow, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. Her qualifications are an E-RYT 200hr with Yoga Alliance and a M.Sc. in Human Nutrition while finalizing her PhD in Nutritional Physiology and Pathophysiology. She is our mainstay anatomy and physiology teacher in Rishikesh Yogi Ashram and Anandam Yoga School. Other than Yoga, Katharina is a nutritional counselor for hormonal well-being, to live healthier, balanced and happier lives. Starting her nutritional counselling career from 2016 to 2019 as a research assistant for the Institute of Nutrition and Food Sciences, Nutritional Physiology, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Germany.
Kadek Martina is Balinese. She was born in Ubud, Bali. Kadek used to work as a marketing manager in London and Liverpool in a private health care industry until she was diagnosed with poly cysts. She decided to returned back to Bali in 2011 and started her self healing by practicing Yoga diligently. Under guidance of a "Asana, Pranayama, Mudra Bandha book" by Swami Satyananda Sarasvati, she practiced twice daily for a year. "The Guru will come when the student is ready". It was the time she needed to deepen her yoga practice by seeking a Guru. Then universe arranged that she went to the bank of Mother Gangga by the foothills of the Himalayas at Parmarth Niketan Ashram Rishikesh. She took seva (selfless service), studied and taught yoga at the Ashram. After 2 years in Rishikesh, she returned home and recovered fully from poly cysts. She continued her practice and shares her experience in Bali.
Martina focuses her Yoga class on Suksma Yyayam - to build strong foundation of strength, flexibility and balance. She also teaches authentic Hatha Yoga, pranayama, yin, power, yoga nidra, and meditation. Her experience, knowledge and friendliness brings joy to the class.
Today Kadek is a 200hr RYS Yoga Alliance certified instructor with a MSc in Marketing Specializing in Branding from Cass Business School London.
