In our lectures on the philosophy and history of yoga, we will only touch on a handful of these issues. We'll take you back to the beginnings of yoga, explore its past and learn how it spread to the west. To help you comprehend the traditional teachings and their applicability today, we will dispel common misconceptions about Yoga and go deeper into Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

A fundamental knowledge of the Sanskrit language is crucial in order to fully assimilate the Sanskrit names of the Yoga asanas, mudras, mantras and pranayama techniques. All forms of physical Yoga, including asana, are based on Hatha Yoga. There are numerous misconceptions regarding the asana practice, thus we will clarify the foundational ideas of the Yogic practice as well as the distinctions between Yoga and the physical culture.
What distinguishes Vinyasa Flow from Hatha Flow? Where was Hatha Yoga first practiced? We inspire you to leave this course knowing how these three Yoga styles, we incorporated in our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, differ and resemble one another. Along with teaching classic Hatha Yoga, we also emphasize teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa and more contemporary forms like Yin and Vinyasa Flow. Your individual practice is the primary concern in these classes. Because a consistent self-practice will serve as the cornerstone of all your teachings. We encourage you to use this course to further your personal yoga practice as well. It impacts your effectiveness as a Yoga teacher and is your source of inspiration and energy. Some of us may be teachers, but we will always be learners.
The art of asana instruction will thereafter be covered in further detail in our asana alignment classes. You will discover:
We build the groundwork for your next yoga asana lessons at our asana lab. You will be able to design Yoga lessons regardless of the teaching method, once you have "mastered" all these asanas.

Hello, my name is Ming and I’m a trained 500hr Yoga teacher. Before embarking on my Yoga journey, I worked as a crisis counselor for three years and became a full-time mom when my children were born. Living in a country with no family support, I often felt alone and burnt out. During this challenging period, I discovered Yoga and began practicing asanas and meditation. Initially, I never considered becoming a Yoga teacher. When I moved to Bali, the thought of joining a Yoga course hadn’t crossed my mind until I learned about Anandam Yoga School offering their first teacher training course in Bali. It felt like fate that I became their student. I completed both the 200-hour and 300-hour YTT programs in Bali with them and was honored to become one of their teachers. Practicing Yoga has brought immense joy and numerous benefits to my life. It has made me a calmer person and helped me become more aware of my actions and reflections on my reactions. After completing my 500-hour teacher training, I began teaching and found a passion for sharing the knowledge I learned both in and out of the classroom. I cherish my time on the mat and love sharing this joy with my students!
